About the Organization

trustea is an Indian sustainability code and verification system for the tea sector. The Code is working with smallholder tea growers, bought leaf factories, estates and packers to address some of the key challenges in the industry including working conditions, health and safety of tea workers, water pollution, food safety, soil erosion and contamination. Trustea Sustainable Tea Foundation is a Section 8 company that independently manages the trustea program.

Today, the program covers 70% of tea manufactured in India.

Job Description

To implement this project, we are hiring Regenerative Agriculture Field Officers/Senior Field Officers. The selected personnel will manage the field implementation of the Project. The project will provide an opportunity to be a part of a large-scale project that aims at facilitating the transformation of the Indian tea industry to a climate resilient low carbon regime.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Graduate/ Post graduate in agriculture/environmental science/ botany/ biotechnology/ tea husbandry.
• 3-5 years of proven track-relevant experience of working in tea plantations with knowledge regarding sustainable cultivation practices in tea.
• Experience in conducting soil sampling and field trial implementation is a plus.
• Experience in working across various tea growing regions in India is a plus.

Language & other qualifications:

• Fluency in English, Hindi & Assamese in addition to at least the local language of the respective tea growing locations. Posting will be based on the fluency of the local language.
• Direct experience of working in tea growing operations/research organisation in Assam is a plus.
