About the project
About the project The SAHARA program focuses on scaling up evidence based ‘task sharing’ interventions for perinatal mental health and early child development through delivery of comprehensive primary mental health care for first 1000 days of life. Sangath has successfully digitized Thinking Healthy Program- Peer (THPP) delivered; an evidence-based task sharing intervention for perinatal depression and developed Lalan Palan, a video-based parenting intervention for early child development. We have scaled up these two interventions across 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh by digitally training community-based workers (ASHAs and Anganwadi workers) and providing them continuous supervision.
The District Coordinator will be responsible for achievement of project deliverables for their designated district.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the project implementation and management at the district level in coordination with Directors
- Liaison with block and district level functionaries of nodal departments, stakeholders at the field site
- Plan, oversee and monitor the daily activities and operational delivery of the project activities in their own designated district
- Identify and compile lists of potential community-based workers (ASHAs and Anganwadi workers) in accordance with project objectives
- Travel to field sites to recruit the eligible community-based workers (ASHAs and Anganwadi workers), collect data, conduct evaluation and feedback survey of the training participants
- Providing supportive supervision to THPP/Lalan Palan supervisors to accomplish allocated district targets
- Supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation activities of the project under the supervision of the Directors
- Prepare reports, maintain records and files related to fieldwork status for communication with project team and collaborators
- Participate in regular project meetings and documentation activities as per the proposed project scope
- Providing support to projects implementation, guaranteeing quality, efficiency and effectiveness
- Assist and participate in other Sangath activities
- Execute any other relevant duties assigned by the program leadership
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in Public Health Management, Public Health, Psychology and Social work
- Prior experience of a minimum of 2 years in training, supervision, and experience in public health research/implementation projects.
- Willingness to be based in Datia and regularly travel to rural settings for fieldwork.
- Fluency in Hindi and English
- Good computing (MS Office), organizational and communication skills
- Commitment of a minimum of 1 year
Desirable criteria
- Experience in conducting trainings and supervising field team.
- Prior work experience of working at the community level
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines
