About the Organization

The entry of private service providers brought with it the inevitable need for independent regulation. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was, thus, established with effect from 20th February 1997 by an Act of Parliament, called the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, to regulate telecom services, including fixation/revision of tariffs for telecom services which were earlier vested in the Central Government.

TRAI's mission is to create and nurture conditions for growth of telecommunications in the country in a manner and at a pace which will enable India to play a leading role in emerging global information society.

Job Description

• Assist in carrying out regulatory, technical, and advisory functions.
• Study global practices, standards, and regulatory frameworks relevant to broadcasting sectors.
• Assist in preparing technical papers, consultation notes, and recommendations.
• Provide technical inputs m formulation of Regulations, Tariff Orders, Directives, and guidelines.
• Examine issues related to Licensing, Intercom1ection Regulations & Tariff Orders.
• Assist in monitoring compliance of service providers with TRAI regulations and directions.
• Any other work assigned from time to time.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Essential: Bachelor's degree in technology / engineering or equivalent in Elecb:onics/ Communications/ EleclTical/ Telecommunications/ Computer Science/ Information Technology /Data Science from a recognized University /Institution of repute.
• Desirable: Master's Degree in above Discipline(s)

Post Qualification Experience

• Essential: Relevant work experience of Four years in (a) Broadcasting / Media / Telecom Regulatory domain, with substantial exposure to broadcasting sector. (b) Drafting policy formulation, consultation papers, recommendations, regulato1y directions or orders, preferably for Government, Regulat01y Bodies, or Indushy Associa tions.
• Desirable: (a) Sound knowledge of Regulatory matters, Tariff & Interco1mection, Quality of Service, Licensing, and policy matters relating to Broadcasting and Cable sector.

Salary

₹ 1,20,000/- per month (fixed) Plus Trru1sport Allowance ₹ 8,000 per month (Fixed)
