Job Overview: Samvedna Development Society (www.sdsorg.in), a new age NGO, is recruiting professionals/ experts in Livestock sector on its payroll for a project supported by BHARAT FINANCIAL INCLUSION LIMITED (A 100 % Subsidiary of IndusInd Bank).
Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has signed an MoU with the Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (BFIL) to support the livelihood intervention of DAY-NRLM by syncing their activities in livestock and farming development. As part of the MoU, in initial phase a PMU is to be established to support DAY-NRLM at national level and State PMUs to be developed. We are currently hiring for the various positions to support the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM), Bihar in managing livestock programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Fishery Value Chain initiatives at the state level, ensuring sustainable growth and measurable impact.
- Oversee aquaculture, fish farming, hatchery operations, and post-harvest activities across project locations.
- Provide technical guidance on best practices in fish breeding, feeding, water quality management, disease control, and productivity enhancement.
- Collaborate with fishermen groups, SHGs, FPOs, cooperatives, processors, and traders to strengthen backward and forward market linkages.
- Support the development of infrastructure such as hatcheries, ponds, cold chains, and storage facilities.
- Conduct training and capacity-building programs for fish farmers and field staff.
- Develop strategies for market access, value addition, quality control, and price realization.
- Ensure proper documentation, MIS reporting, and monitoring of project progress and outcomes.
- Coordinate with state fisheries departments, financial institutions, and private partners for program implementation.
- Promote adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable aquaculture practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 7–15 years of professional experience in the fisheries sector, including aquaculture, fish farming, and fisheries management.
- Strong technical understanding of fishery production systems and value chain development.
- Experience working with government programs, NGOs, or livelihood missions is preferred.
- Proven ability in training, stakeholder coordination, and field-level implementation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the state.
