About the Organization

Indian Institute of Technology Indore located in Madhya Pradesh, known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009. It is one of the eight new IITs, started by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institution started functioning from 2009-10 in a temporary campus at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilya University under mentorship of IIT Bombay. Shri Arjun Singh, the Union HRD minister, laid the foundation of the permanent campus, spread over an area of around 501.42-acre (2.1 km2), on 17th February 2009 at Simrol, a location on Khandwa Road about 25 km from the city of Indore.

Job Description

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore invites applications for the position of Wellness Manager (Through HCU Project) at the Institute's Wellness Centre. The Institute is a residential campus housing more than 3000 students. The wellness manager is a trained professional who would engage with the students on campus, assist them with their physical and mental health issues, and provide the encouragement needed to excel in their education.

Job Responsibilities

• A wellness manager helps people who struggle with physical, mental and emotional problems and cope with them.
• A wellness manager assists in counselling students to help them cope with psychosocial problems.
• The wellness manager meets with other members of the mental health team (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, medical practitioners, etc.) to discuss student care.
• The wellness manager should also assist with individual and group therapy sessions with students.
• The Wellness manager conducts regular awareness training for supporting staff and the Institute community to make them aware of mental health and hygiene.
• Maintain case records and prepare reports of each student.
• This is a residential position. The wellness managers must be available on campus on different shifts for the Institute community. They would also be required to attend crises/emergencies on campus at any time. (h) The experience may be relaxed for meritorious candidates.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• PG / M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work or Medical Social Work
• M. Phil with at least one year’s (Consolidated) experience / PG with at least three-year experience
