Applications Open for M.A. (Master of Arts) in Public Policy Programme and PG Diploma in Water Law, Policy and Governance

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:

The State of Maharashtra realizing the importance of quality Legal Education and the need for well-trained Law Graduates in the Bar and Bench took a decision to establish three National Law Universities in the State of Maharashtra at Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad, in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively. The Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad commenced its operation from March 16, 2017. The commencement of the University has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of the Marathwada Region for an Institution of National Importance. The University visualize to advance and disseminate learning, knowledge of the law, legal processes and their role in national development. The University aims to develop in the students and research scholars, a sense of responsibility. The objective of the University is to serve society in the field of law by developing skills pertaining to advocacy, legal services, legislation and law reforms.

Recently the University has shifted to 50 acre lush-green campus at Kanchanwadi, Aurangabad with an ambivalent infrastructure. Presently the university has a Center of Excellence Building, a building of Boys' and Girls' hostels, and Faculty quarters. Additionally, the Academic Building, Administrative Building, and building for the library and Mess are under construction.

The University is mentored and supervised by Executive Council, and Academic Council comprising members from Bar, Government, Industry, Academia, and Civil Society. The university functions under the guidance and visionary leadership of the Chancellor of the University Hon'ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Senior Judge, Supreme Court of India, The Pro-Chancellor, Hon'ble Shri. Justice Sanjay V. Gangapurwala, High Court of Bombay, and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. KVS Sarma. The Maharashtra National Law University Aurangabad despite being in its nascent stage is growing by leaps and bounds in the various spheres ranging from Infrastructure, Academics, and Administration to the deployment of best research practices in the University. Highly qualified and competent faculties, the best library and online resources, effective and efficient administration and innovations in the academics and research affairs of the University have helped it in becoming a prominent and promising Law School in the league of NLUs in the Country.

The University is presently offering B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. Courses with Constitutional Law and Corporate Law specializations. The University is also offering Ph. D. Degree and LL. D. Degree programmes. In addition to the above, University is starting a few more innovative and interdisciplinary regular courses in collaboration with reputed Institutions such as Two Years M.A. (Public Policy); Five Years integrated BBA-MBA (Law and management); Two Years MBA (Financial Sevices and Court Administration) the Academic Year 2023-2024. Apart from that, the University has added more part-time Executive programmes University such as M. A. (Law, Forensic Science and Technology) Two Years Executive programme in collaboration with Truth Labs, Hyderabad; MBA (Capital Market and Financial Services) two years Executive Programme in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE));  Two Years Executive MBA (Medical Laws and Hospital Management), and One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Water Law, Policy and Governance in collaboration with the Water Policy Center, Aurangabad from the Academic Year 2023-2024.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

The MNLU Aurangabad has commenced various innovative courses as a blend of Law and Public Policy so as to step into various grey areas of policy making. Two Years M.A. (Master of Arts) in Public Policy Programme (Residential) and One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Water Law, Policy and Governance (Hybrid Mode) have been introduced with the intention to build the skill of decision and policy-making required for various governments, other statutory bodies, industries, NGOs, and international organisations. The emphasis is stressed on inculcating new skills and policy analysis by various experts in the field. We are sure that this innovative and blended programme will surely strengthen the opportunity for the Post-Graduate students of these courses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

To be eligible for the above prgrammes, a candidate should have:

1. All candidates who have graduated in any stream or awaiting their final year results are eligible for MA Public Policy and PG Diploma in Water Laws, Policy and Governance Programmes.
2. All candidates who appeared for UGC-CUET Test, CLAT (PG), CMAT, MAT, ATMA, CAT, AICTE-CMA Test, MH CET Law, and MAH CET are eligible for direct admission

HOW TO APPLY:

The candidates applied for MA Public Policy shall be selected based on his/her performance in the entrance test and the interview. The candidates applied for PG Diploma in Wate Laws, Policy and Governance shall be selected based on his/her graduation marks and the Online Interview.
