About Transforming India Initiative- Social Entrepreneurship Program

ALC India's Transforming India Initiative provides a platform through which entrepreneurs and enterprises are equipped to discover, dream, design and develop. The two-year full time program is consists of a 18 month Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship under Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) and a 6 month Facilitated learning under Institute of Rural Management (IRMA). We equip the seekers with the skills, mindsets and ecosystem support to establish responsible enterprises that will address the most pressing challenges facing India today. 

The course aims to mould individuals who want to start their own social enterprises or become intrapreneurs in existing social enterprises and fill the much needed talent void in the development sector.

A unique experiential learning program that aims to teach Seekers (Participants) the necessary theoretical & practical skills necessary to become a social entrepreneur. The program is designed to facilitate holistic development of the seeker and has four pillars that aim at transforming the heart, body, mind and soul.

The Seekers get to learn various mangerial and social theories, skills and mindset by experienced practitioners of the respoective fields during the first 6 months of Facilitated Learning.

They then spend 18 months of the course on ground with a partner social enterprise where they work on starting and executing a new idea or initiative for the enterprise from scratch. Experience wise, this gets them as close as possible to starting a new enterprise of their own.

One of the Seekers from the second cohort, Jaspal worked with the ‘Adarsh Dharmagarh Farmer Producers Company’ during his practicum.  He started a seed processing unit for women farmers which became profitable in the first year and raked in revenues of 60 lakhs.

This experience gave him the confidence to start his own social enterprise and having found a co-founder in his batch-mate, Hitesh Warathe, Jaspal has recently started his own rooftop vegetable garden startup in Nagpur. 

Some partners the Seekers are working with currently are Head Held High, Rural Development Trust, Swasti, Sampurna(e)arth, SAFA, Kheyti are some of the partner enterprises. The scope of their projects ranges widely from livelihoods enhancement, mental health & menstrual hygiene, integrated rural development to reimagining education for govt. schools.

Who can apply?

Open to motivated graduates from any discipline. Both freshers & experienced professionals are welcome to apply.
