About the Organization
The primary objective of the University is to evolve and impart comprehensive and interdisciplinary legal education that is socially relevant. Through this education, we aim to promote legal and ethical values and foster the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the Constitution of India. Furthermore, the University works toward dissemination of legal knowledge and its role in national development, so that the ability to analyse and present contemporary issues of public concern and their legal implications for the benefit of the public is improved. These processes strive to promote legal awareness in the community and to achieve political, social and economic justice.
About the Call for Papers
The NLUD Journal on LABOUR is now accepting submissions for its upcoming issue. It is published by the Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy at the National Law University, Delhi. This double-blind and peer-reviewed annual journal focussing on interdisciplinary scholarship on Labour. Each issue will centre debates on contemporary areas of Labour. The journal’s editorial board is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity, and we invite scholars, researchers, practitioners and activist to contribute to this academic exchange.
This annual thematic journal aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary writings on labour issues, with its inaugural edition focusing on the theme "Sociology of Labour." Few sub topics identified but not limited for this issue are as follows:
- Nature of work, work relationship and occupational style
- Various sectors within informal/formal sector and its political economy
- Labour and Development discourse on work
- Feminist analysis of Labour, Migration and Development
- Intersectional analysis of Labour confluence 6. Marginalised labour categories and historical injustices
- Structure of Labour Law and its influence on Labouring Lives
- Just transition debates on labour 9. New industries, new cities and new labour 10. Urban development and labour
How to Apply
All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter indicating the author's name, affiliation, the submission's title, the author's email address/contact number, and a declaration of originality. The submissions will be reviewed and edited by the Editorial Board under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief.
