About the Fellowship
This 12-month fellowship offers a unique opportunity for a promising photojournalist to develop their skills and contribute to Reuters' global news coverage. Under the mentorship of our experienced South Asia Picture Editor, fellows will gain invaluable hands-on experience, honing their craft while upholding the highest journalistic standards. The fellowship begins May 5, 2025.
We seek a passionate and talented photojournalist who embodies the spirit of Danish Siddiqui:
- Emerging Talent: A recent graduate or photojournalist with five years or less of professional experience.
- Indian Citizenship/Residency: Must be an Indian citizen or permanent resident.
- Commitment to Ethical Storytelling: A deep understanding and commitment to the principles of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and independence.
- Visual Prowess: A strong portfolio showcasing compelling visual storytelling abilities. News photography experience is a plus, but not required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Reuters' daily news coverage from our Delhi bureau.
- Capture impactful images for breaking news and in-depth features.
- Develop and pitch compelling visual narratives.
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team.
- Embrace new technologies and innovative storytelling approaches.
- Adhere to Reuters' Trust Principles.
Eligibility
- Demonstrated visual storytelling ability (portfolio required).
- Strong photography and photo editing skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise English captions.
- Adaptability, teamwork skills, and a proactive approach to learning.
- Proficiency with mirrorless or DSLR cameras.
