About the Organization

Founded by Harvard University & Teach for India alumni, Slam Out Loud is a not- for-profit organisation that leverages arts-in-education and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Our mission is to transform the art period in school into a space where children can find their voice through creative expression.

About the Fellowship

The Jijivisha Fellowship is a one-year, full-time paid work commitment, where fellows are placed directly in classrooms. They work closely with the students, parents, teachers, and the school administration to create safe spaces and build creative confidence in children.

Besides Delhi and Pune, the Fellowship is now expanding to Mumbai and Bangalore this year, with a potential to impact 4,000 children.

In our fellows, we look for people who are committed to the arts-in-education movement that looks to enable every child to “unlock their potential & find their voice” using the arts as a medium. Our fellows come from diverse backgrounds, representing some of the best colleges and artist networks in the country.

Where do our fellows teach:

  • You will be placed as a full-time, arts-based SEL facilitator in an affordable private school.
  • You will be located in one of 4 cities: Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai or Pune.
  • You will be teaching grades 5 to 8

  • holistic learning of a child.

  • Conduct workshops for parents on SEL to encourage them to invest in
  • their children’s overall well-being.
  • Identify challenges and barriers within the communities that might
  • impede children’s growth and learning and use arts as a medium to come
  • up with collaborative solutions.
  • Facilitate well-being circles and best practices sharing spaces with school
