About the Programme

The GEAF Ambassador Programme is GEAF's flagship initiative designed to develop emerging environmental leaders and support them in implementing community-based environmental initiatives. The six-month programme combines structured training and development, personalized project support, communication support, grants for local project implementation, and access to an international network of peers, experts, partners, and environmental actors. The programme focuses on climate action, sustainability, environmental justice and community engagement, while helping participants design, implement, report on, and sustain locally relevant environmental initiatives.

Key Components

• Training & Development – Expert-led sessions covering climate governance, sustainable development, communication and advocacy, fundraising, partnerships, innovation and sustainability.
• Personalized Support – One-to-one guidance on project planning, budgeting, communication, implementation and reporting.
• Structured Implementation Framework – Milestones, operational guidance and reporting processes throughout the programme.
• Communication Support – Communication templates, media engagement guidance and visibility through GEAF platforms.
• Grants for Local Project Implementation – Grants to support approved community-based environmental initiatives.
• International Network – Access to GEAF Ambassadors, experts and partners for peer learning and collaboration.

Thematic Areas

Projects can focus on five thematic areas:

• Environmental Education & Community Empowerment
• Forestry & Biodiversity Conservation
• Marine & Water Protection
• Climate-Smart Agriculture Advancement
• Waste Management & Pollution Prevention

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
• Have a strong understanding of and passion for sustainability and environmental justice.
• Have strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Be fluent in French or English; basic English is mandatory.
• Be available for the full six-month programme.
• Commit approximately 5–10 hours per week.
• Have experience in community outreach and implementing local initiatives.
