About the Organization

Welcome to APNOR, the Asia Pacific Network of Refugees. Our organization is dedicated to enhancing the lives of forcibly displaced persons throughout the Asia Pacific region. We firmly believe in empowering refugee communities to reach their full potential and actively participate in decision-making processes affecting their lives.

At APNOR, we are driven by a passionate vision of a future where all refugees can access their human rights, achieve independence, and contribute meaningfully to society. Our objectives are centered around providing essential support, empowering refugee leaders, fostering community engagement, and advocating for positive changes in the humanitarian system.

About the Grant

The Asia Pacific Network of Refugees (APNOR) is thrilled to announce the opening of the next round of Refugee Leadership Alliance Fund—an RLO-to-RLO Fund, created by refugees, for refugees. This fund is designed exclusively for refugee-led organizations/Initiatives (RLOs/RLIs) in the Asia Pacific region, providing a direct pathway for much-needed financial support to those on the frontlines of responding to their communities’ needs.

The Refugee Leadership Alliance Fund puts philanthropic power in the hands of refugees, offering a safe and effective way for donors to fund RLOs. Refugees are often the first and last responders to the challenges facing their communities. Despite doing this vital work, refugee-led organizations are desperately underfunded, and face bureaucratic hurdles .By distributing funds directly to RLOs across Asia, we aim to ensure that community-led responses to forced displacement are empowered, recognised ,sustained, and impactful.

A Refugee-Led Organization/Initiatives (RLOs/RLIs) is an organization whose purposes, activities, and initiatives respond to the needs and priorities of refugee communities. It must be either founded and run by individuals with a forced displacement background or have individuals from such backgrounds in major leadership roles with the ability to influence its work. This ensures that the initiatives are truly led by, and for, refugee communities.
