About the Organization

Thrive Philanthropy accelerates plant-based just Food systems. We are a global grantmaker that accelerates alternatives to industrial animal agriculture and amplifies just, sustainable, plant-based food systems by strengthening frontline organizations and connecting impact-driven donors with a network of 300+ food justice advocates across the world.

We do this by: Offering grant & capacity opportunities for food systems change advocates using modern, equitable, Trust-Based Philanthropy approaches.

Bridging impact-driven donors with a network of 300+ food system and plant-based advocates from 70+ countries across the world and offering philanthropic services that optimize grantmaking efficacy, impact, and equity.

About the Grant

The Thrive Grant funds initiatives that create just, plant-based food systems by reducing the consumption or demand of animals, overcoming industrial animal agriculture, or for vegan advocacy.

The Thrive Grant ranges from $10,000 USD to $50,000 USD.

While we aim to fund many proposals, grants are limited and, unfortunately, not all who apply will be awarded. 

The Thrive  Grant is geared toward mid-size or larger organizations, and/or organizations with a track record of success.

Eligibility

• Proposals that aim to create just, vegan food systems by reducing the consumption of animals, reducing industrial animal agriculture, or for vegan advocacy.
• Aligns with Thrive Philanthropy’s safespace policy.
• Outside the United States and/or are not an international chapter of a US-based organization.
• Applicants must consistently demonstrate a positive reputation with their stakeholders and community and can contribute to Thrive Philanthropy’s positive reputation.
• Not a for-profit company.
• We occasionally fund individuals at smaller amounts, however, most Thrive Grants are directed to organizations. (Please see our other grants for grants suited toward individuals.)
• We are currently prioritizing organizations with a budget less than $500,000 USD

How to Apply

Deadline 11:59 pm GMT on 1 June.

It takes up to 8 weeks from deadline for a response.

Proposals are welcomed through the online application. Unfortunately, we can’t accept emailed proposals.

At this time, USA organizations or international chapters of USA organizations are not eligible.

Organizations that receive a grant are typically eligible for only one grant per year.

Equity is the centerpiece of our giving. Proposals led by or that meaningfully employ women, people of colour, and other marginalized persons are encouraged to apply.
