These member countries, or shareholders, are represented by a Board of Governors, who are the ultimate policymakers at the World Bank. Generally, the governors are member countries' ministers of finance or ministers of development. They meet once a year at the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Given the sharp increase in the number of grants being allocated and the number of country partners joining the partnership, there is a need to closely track, monitor and report on the overall grant and country portfolios. The internal processes such as the quality assurance review and the operating procedures are multifaceted, often involving cross-teams coordination. Thus, the need to communicate and monitor regularly on important deadlines/milestones externally to country partners and internally to staff. To this end, the Secretariat is seeking an experienced Grant Data Management Analyst to join the GO Practice.
The Grant Data Management Analyst is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and ensuring the integrity of data within the grant management systems. This role ensures that grant-related data processes are streamlined, accurate, and compliant with organizational policies. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, experience in grant systems, and a solid understanding of data workflows in a grant management context. As part of the GO Practice, the successful candidate will:
Grant System Administration
- Support project management for the development of new modules in the grant management system, ensuring alignment with the new operating model, GPE2025, and GPE 2030, to monitor new grants, workflows, and processes.
- Configure system workflows and fields to align with evolving grant processes.
Data Management Maintenance and Integrity
- Maintain and update the grant management system, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Compile grant-related data to feed into the system. Lead in maintaining and monitoring specific modules within the system, such as the letter and email generation modules, grant pages, and condition module.
- Gather information from decisions on partner countries’ strategic parameters and grants, ensuring they are well-captured in the systems, as well as on reporting from grant agents on program implementation.
- Monitor data entry processes and implement validation checks to ensure high-quality data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with IT and other teams.
- Provide surge capacity on grant coding and capture data related to the use of grants.
- Identify missing data and follow up with relevant teams to obtain it.
- Support the digital transformation initiative by ensuring data is well transferred and maintained.
Reporting and Compliance Support
- Create high-level data visualizations, charts, graphs, and dashboards to communicate data stories within the Secretariat and with external partners.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis utilizing Python or R to inform strategic decisions.
- Support the production of various reports, publications, and presentations, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Respond to regular routine requests for country partners and grant-related information, including requests from GPE management, other GPE teams, and external partners.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, Data Science, statistics or a related field.
Experience
- At least two years of experience, with one year in a similar function, focused on data management, analysis, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing data within grant management systems or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of grant data workflows and compliance requirements.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and management tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
- Experience with data visualization techniques and creating interactive reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
