About the Organization
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent think tank doing legal research and assisting the government in making better laws. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform which it believes is critical to India’s future. Job Description
Vidhi is looking for a Development Associate to join our team in New Delhi. This role involves supporting fundraising operations, donor engagement, and communication efforts. The Associate will work closely with the Development Manager and the Impact Collective to advance Vidhi’s mission.
Job Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Relations
- Research and identify potential funders, map existing networks, and generate leads.
- Track philanthropic trends relevant to Vidhi’s work.
- Develop compelling grant proposals, donor reports, and presentations.
- Maintain donor databases and track compliance outputs for funders.
Communications & Outreach
- Assist in creating communication materials to amplify Vidhi’s vision and mission.
- Coordinate with program and finance teams to collate data for funding proposals.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual fundraising reports.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with:
- A degree in Finance, Management, Communications, or Social Sciences (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in fundraising or communications.
- A demonstrated interest in law, policy, and advocacy.
- Strong time management, organisational skills
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite.
- Basic understanding of non-profit finance, including balance sheets, budgets, and P&L statements.
- Experience with visual presentation tools like Canva or Prezi is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
