Introduction
We solve the waste management crisis of the Indian Himalayan Region. Our work lies at the intersection of Climate Change, Biodiversity Habitat Conservation, and Informal livelihoods. With a team of 200+ Warriors spread across various locations nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, we strive to create effective waste management solutions across urban and rural landscapes, with a special focus on eco-sensitive and tourist areas.
Position Brief
We are looking for a highly driven and dynamic individual who is deeply passionate about working in the waste management sector and is eager to support community events and facilitate our awareness and livelihood program This role will also involve establishing and maintaining relationships with the local communities and other relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities of a Communications Assistant:
1. Baseline Survey: Will be responsible for conducting initial surveys in villages to kickstart solid waste management operations
2. Engagement with Ground Workers: Foster effective and professional communication with all field staff, and schedule regular weekly or monthly meetings with supervisors and project managers to ensure alignment
3. Supervision and Documentation of Operations: Oversee the dry waste collection process in villages and maintain detailed records of daily field activities, including household waste collection, user fee payments, attendance, and other operational tasks
4. Awareness Campaigns: Organize awareness sessions within the community to educate residents about the impact of plastic pollution
5. Reporting: Provide timely updates to supervisors on the progress of ground activities, highlighting any issues or challenges encountered
6. Team Player: Maintaining effective partnerships and working relations in a multicultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
An Ideal Candidate Will: 
1. Graduation or a professional diploma is preferable
2. Have a genuine interest in working in the social sector
3. Have basic knowledge of Google Drive and Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
4. Have basic knowledge of waste management and is eager to learn more
5. Experience in photography/videography and video editing is good to have as a skill
6. Having some experience in volunteering with NGOs is preferable
7. Willing to travel to multiple locations as and when required
8. Local candidates will be preferred, but others will be considered as well.

2. Able to handle intense fieldwork in difficult terrains. 
3. Open-minded, creatively flexible, and able to take constructive feedback
