The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) conducts independent, in-depth, and policy-relevant research, and provides evidence-based recommendations to the challenges facing India and the world. It draws on the expertise of its researchers, extensive interactions with policy makers as well as convening power to enhance the impact of research. Our researchers work across the domains of Growth, Finance and Development including Urbanisation; Energy, Natural Resources and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.

Job Description

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) is looking for motivated individuals interested in leading and executing field research involving visit to schools and households. This provides a rare opportunity to gain exposure to the field, understanding policy and engaging with the resource persons. Candidates with relevant qualifications and a keen interest in policy research may apply.

The Education vertical in the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, is engaged in a Study aimed at developing a Public Report on Secondary Education (PROSE). In July and August, a pilot survey of around 70 schools and around 750 households is planned in Delhi and NCR region.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• A graduate or postgraduate student
• Should be intelligent and perceptive
• A good grasp of Hindi language
• Based in Delhi or its neighbourhood
• Should have a smartphone
• Experience of survey, and of use of tablets/phones for data collection preferred
• Knowledge of schooling issues will be given preference
