About the Organization

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed to be University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.

Job Description/Responsibilities

• Planning, operationalizing and coordinating the work of the Health and Biomarker component of the LASI project.
• Manage the technical aspects of data validation, and ensuring indicators are used, methodologies are acceptable and comparable data is being analyzed and validated.
• Responsible for coordination with Health, Research and IT team. And moniroting of the activities of LASI Project
• Capacity to undertake extensive travel through the country and prepare to handle work under pressure
• Supporting in the arrangement of logistics for Training of Trainers (TOT)/ State level trainings/workshops
• Supporting the preparation of reports and necessary documentation.
• Any other responsibility relating to the survey that may be assigned from time to time.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

• M.D. with 2 years of experience or M.B.B.S. with 4 years of experience in Developing and implementing, monitoring and evaluation systems within the health sector.
• Demonstrated experience in public health/National health system/ Health Policy/Health Surveys
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Desirable:

• Understanding the health monitoring and evaluation (M&E), including the meaning and measurement of main indicators
• Experience in clinical diagnostics in field survey settings.
• Good data analysis, interpretation and report writing skills.

Salary

Rs. 1,10,000/- to Rs. 1,25,000/- Per Month (Consolidated)
