About the Organization
Established in 2007, the National Health Systems Resource Centre, a premier Think Tank for MoHFW, is mandated to assist in policy and strategy development in the provision and mobilization of technical assistance to the states and in capacity building for the Ministry of Health.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Receiving of sewage samples in the laboratory and maintenance of records
- Inactivation of sewage samples received in the laboratory
- Concentration of sewage samples received in the laboratory
- Ensuring that the sewage concentration is performed with use of appropriate surrogate markers as and when required
- Labeling of sewage samples extracts and recording of concentrate volume and other details in respective registers
- Handover of sewage sample concentrates for viral RNA extraction
- RNA extraction of the sewage concentrate
- Maintenance of stock position of reagents
- Preparation of reagents used for sewage sample processing and maintenance of related records
- Supervision of collection of sewage sample at site if required
- Supervision of preparations of equipment and consumables for Sewage sample collection from site
- Segregation of biomedical waste generated as per SOP
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- High School* or equivalent with five years’ experience in related field from a Government institution or recognized institute or certificate of one-year training in the relevant area or ITI or National Trade certificate of National Council for Vocational Training and successful completion of ATS in relevant trade from a Government recognized board.
- *Intermediate with science subjects and B.Sc. shall be treated as equivalent to 2- and 3-years’ experience respectively.
Desirable:
- Graduation in Life Sciences
- Work experience in Microbiology laboratory
- Knowledge of computer application
Salary
Rs. 21,927/- (As per prevailing norms of minimum wages for this post) (No other allowances are permissible) (Consolidated remuneration per month)
