About the Organization
The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) is a Society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Set up in March 2011 and headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya its Registered Office is situated at Nongrim Hills, Shillong.
MBDA aims to address management of natural resources in the state while addressing issues of livelihoods among the rural communities with emphasis on sustainable good practices. Its strategies focus on leveraging the strengths of the land while adapting to climate change, without degradation to the environment.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Environment, Natural Resource Economics, Climate Change, Development Studies or related discipline.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 08 years of experience in climate-related research or the environment-development sector, with a deep understanding of climate policy issues, ecosystem dynamics, and environmental governance in Meghalaya.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and analytical papers on climate resilience, sustainability, and environmental policy.
- Proven experience in collaborating with government agencies, policy think tanks, and academic institutions to design and implement climate resilience and sustainability policies.
- Familiarity with frameworks like the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) and the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC).
- Experience in climate modelling would be a distinct advantage
