Project Overview:

This exciting project aims to address the complex challenges facing a specific river basin in India. We (CSRBOX anchored collaborative) will implement a multifaceted approach, utilizing micro-interventions that tackle key issues like water scarcity, unsustainable agricultural practices, and improper waste management. Our strategies will encompass:

  • Water Resources Management: Optimizing water use, promoting water conservation, and exploring sustainable water harvesting techniques.
  • Sustainable Agriculture: Implementing nature-based solutions and promoting agricultural practices that enhance soil health and water efficiency.
  • Community Behavior Change: Educating and empowering communities to adopt sustainable behaviors that contribute to improved river basin health.
  • Urban Wastewater Treatment: Implementing innovative solutions for wastewater treatment, minimizing pollution entering the river system.
  • Policy Advocacy: Influencing policy changes at the local and state levels to support sustainable river basin management.

The Role and Responsibilities:

As the Manager - Programs, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the success of this multi-year initiative. You will be responsible for:

  • Program Design and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with technical experts and stakeholders to develop comprehensive program strategies for each micro-intervention.
    • Oversee the implementation of program activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely project completion.
    • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, measuring impact and making adjustments as needed.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Apply your knowledge of nature-based solutions (NbS), natural resource management (NRM), and sustainability initiatives to guide project development.
    • Stay informed of current trends and best practices in water resource sustainability and environmental conservation.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build strong relationships with technical resources, funders, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
    • Lead collaborative dialogues and workshops to foster collective action and achieve shared goals.
    • Effectively communicate project progress and impact to diverse stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide strategic direction and guidance to a team of program staff, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members have the necessary resources and support to succeed.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience post-master's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental management, water resources, agriculture, or sustainability.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful projects on NbS, NRM, or sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with on-the-ground implementation of water or agriculture-based projects.
  • Strong understanding of the role businesses play in water resource sustainability.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead effectively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and resources efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to creating positive social and environmental impact.
