Overview:

Tanager brings the right people to the table in India, from smallholder producers to major consumer brands and everyone along the supply chain, to improve the productivity and profitability of Indian farmers and strengthen sustainable supply chains. We combine technical expertise and business perspective to assess markets, analyze supply chains, and pilot new technologies and tools in collaboration with market leaders such as Mars Wrigley Confectionary, Walmart, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the UNDP, and thought leaders such as the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), NABARD, and the Sustainable Food Lab. We help farmers to increase their incomes through the supply of quality production to higher value markets. We also solve complex agricultural problems to create value for farmers and other members of the supply chain.

The person will be responsible for creating, managing, and enhancing digital visual content to support the objectives of the Shubh Mint 2.0 project. The role involves capturing and producing high-quality video and photographic materials that align with the organization's goals, particularly focusing on promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), empowering Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).The specialist will ensure content quality through expert editing and post-production while adhering to established standards. Field engagement and collaboration with internal and external teams are critical to effectively documenting and showcasing project outcomes. This position requires technical expertise in videography, photography, and editing tools to deliver impactful and professional content for digital platforms and project documentation.

1     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Video Shooting

  • Capture high-quality, step-by-step video content for digital channels, including Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by adhering to the timelines and guidance provided by the IT/Technology Officer.
  • Ensure optimal video and audio quality aligns with established guidelines and supports digital marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with the IT/Technology Officer throughout the video planning, shooting, editing, and production phases.

Video and Photo Storage

  • Organize and store videos and photographs systematically in local server.
  • Upload final files to SharePoint, ensuring they are categorized with essential metadata such as date, location, and process stage for easy retrieval and reference.

Video and Photo Editing

  • Edit captured videos and images to meet the quality standards and specifications provided by the IT/Technology Officer.
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions as suggested by IT / Technology Officer and external / Internal subject matter experts.
  • Enhance content with graphics using tools like Envato Elements and Canva.
  • Add subtitles to improve accessibility.
  • Ensure all final outputs are clear, professional, and aligned with project goals.

Field Visits

  • Maintain videography and photography equipment, ensuring readiness for field use at all times.
  • Travel to field locations as scheduled in the crop calendar to document necessary visuals.
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of required footage and photography.

2-     Experience:

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of professional experience in videography, photography, and video editing, preferably in the agricultural, development, or NGO sector.

3-     Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any Discipline, preferably with a certification course in photography / videography.

4-     Skills:

  • Proven track record of planning, shooting, and editing high-quality videos and photographs for digital platforms.
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop) and other editing tools like Canva or Envato Elements.
  • Hands-on experience in fieldwork, capturing visuals in dynamic or outdoor environments, and working with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with creating content for digital marketing, social media, and project documentation purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and audio gear.
  • Expertise in using drones and stabilizers for capturing unique perspectives is a plus.
  • Ability to manage storage systems and maintain a well-organized digital asset library.
  • Proficiency in operating DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, video cameras, and tripods.
  • Understanding of lenses, lighting equipment, and sound recording tools.
  • Photography and Videography Principles:
  • Knowledge of composition, framing, exposure, and depth of field.
  • Expertise in cinematography techniques like panning, zooming, and tracking shots.
  • Editing Software: Familiarity with tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Lightroom, and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of color grading and sound editing techniques.
  • Expertise in handling camera settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.
  • Skilled in post-production processes, including editing, retouching, and sound design.
  • Competence in using natural and artificial light for desired effects.
  • Knowledge of setting up and managing studio lights, reflectors, and diffusers.
  • Ability to work closely with farmers, extension team, experts, and digital teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Effective scheduling and execution of shoots within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Keen eye for spotting imperfections in composition, lighting, or focus.
  • Ability to evoke emotions and convey messages through images and footage.
  • Capacity to learn new tools, techniques, or software quickly (e.g., Canva, Envato).
  • Endurance to handle long shoot or physically demanding setups.
  • Innovating solutions to overcome technical or creative challenges.
