Are you a young professional or postgraduate student seeking a path that’s meaningful and impactful?

ONShakti Yuva is a one-year, full-time program by SwitchON Foundation that nurtures future leaders through deep field experience, structured training, and hands-on work with grassroot enterprises, marginalized communities, and climate action initiatives.

Who You Will Work With

Fellows will be placed with organizations and community leaders across West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra, and will work with:

• Women-led rural or urban enterprises
• Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)
• Tribal and indigenous communities
• Grassroot NGOs and social enterprises
• Startups promoting clean energy, agriculture, and livelihoods
• Youth, migrants, and informal sector workers

What You Will Do

As an ONshakti Yuva, you will help build, grow, and strengthen community institutions and enterprises. Your responsibilities will include:

1.  Strengthen and Scale Impact

• Support teams to grow in size, capacity, and income generation
• Improve systems, processes, and training delivery
• Identify markets for products/services and create linkages
• Strengthen branding, storytelling, and communications

2.  Support Sustainability and Growth

• Help raise resources through grant writing and fundraising support
• Document impact stories, case studies, and community insights
• Conduct monitoring visits and provide feedback for improvement

3.  Build Local Leadership

• Conduct or co-create trainings for community members or staff
• Support with strategic thinking and capacity building
• Encourage inclusive and locally led solutions to climate and livelihood challenges

Depending on your location and strengths, you may support more than one initiative or organization.

Your ONShakti Yuva Journey

Month 1: Begin With

• Vipassana Retreat (10 days): Build inner clarity, focus, and resilience

Month 2: Immerse & Learn

• Community Immersion (2 weeks): Stay with and learn from underserved communities
• Foundation Training (2 weeks): Learn key skills—facilitation, program design, documentation, communication, fundraising

Months 3–12: Field Placement

• Be placed with organizations driving change
• Mentored by senior managers and SwitchON advisors
• Take part in peer reviews, learning sessions, and reflection retreats

What You Will Gain

• Strong skills in project management, communication, training, and storytelling
• A portfolio of impact work; case studies, training modules, strategies
• Deep personal growth through field learning and inner reflection

Who Can Apply

We are looking for high-potential individuals who are ready to learn, serve, and lead with purpose.

You are encouraged to apply if you have:

• 0–5 years of professional experience in any sector
• A strong academic background with proven credentials
• Demonstrated youth leadership experience: leading teams, projects, or campaigns
• A deep desire to serve marginalized communities and contribute meaningfully
• A strong passion for the environment and climate solution
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-based, and innovation-driven work culture
• Willingness to live and work in under-resourced or challenging environments

This is a program for those who want to be on the frontlines of impact, working shoulder-to-shoulder with changemakers and building the future from the ground up.
