Job Description

The Centre for Policy Design (CPD) at the Ashoka Trust for Research for Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) is the host organisation for the Ecological Restoration Alliance (ERA)-India Policy Initiative. The candidates will play a key role in synthesising, writing, and communicating the approach and learnings of the ERA-India network to policymake

Job Responsibilities

• Developing a conceptual design and a phased implementation plan for actionable policy targets for restoration in India.
• Collating relevant restoration related materials developed within ERA (or by members independently) and translating them into policy briefs.
• Organising workshops with state departments to understand pain-points which can be addressed by ERA members.
• Organise quarterly meet-ups for ERA members (online/hybrid) to communicate on relevant environmental policy developments in India.
• Identify key thematic areas for developing policy briefs.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field – public policy, economics, environmental law, environmental studies, natural resource management
• In-depth understanding of ecological restoration
• At least 2 years of relevant experience for Policy Analyst, and at least 5 years of experience for Senior Policy Analyst; in policy research and analysis, and policy advocacy on natural resource governance issues
