Job Description/Responsibilities

As part of Co-Impact team, core responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the design and implementation of grantmaking processes, including workplanning.
  • Play a lead role in setting up and maintaining of the required systems and processes for the regional team planning, budgeting, database management, Program Partner review and reporting processes.
  • Play a critical role in the team’s work to identify, assess and recommend high impact mission aligned grants. Conduct background research on and engage with relevant sector experts, advisors, and other funders to strengthen the sourcing, vetting and ongoing support to program partners.
  • Conduct landscape and opportunity diligence research on potential and existing grants, including analysis on relevant sectors, sub-regions/geographies, impact, and financial sustainability.
  • Supporting Regional Director and Associate Director to monitor and manage grants, supporting program partners to achieve common outcomes.
  • Review, and synthesize program partner reports, prepare memos, reports or presentation that succinctly highlight progress/setbacks, key lessons, and make evidence-informed recommendations for action.
  • Serve as a resource person for one or more cross-cutting thematic (e.g. governance, climate) areas.
  • Support in portfolio level analysis, LME synthesis, gathering and analyzing data from Salesforce, preparing dashboards, trackers and other tools for efficient functioning of the program team.
  • Contribute to cross-learning and action among Co-Impact’s program partners and philanthropic peers on advancing gender equity, women’s leadership, systems change, and organizational strengthening.
  • Collaborate with other program managers to ensure alignment and coordination of work across the regions.
  • Design and facilitate events, convenings, and foster learning and collaboration that enable partners and peers in the field to learn together.
  • Supporting the Regional Director, Associate Director and the broader Program team as needed, as well as participating in special projects as they arise.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 7+ years, preferably 8–10 years of relevant professional experience working to advancing gender equality (with an intersectional lens) and improving government (and at times market) systems in education, health, economic opportunity, and/or women’s leadership.
  • Significant experience working directly with senior-level staff.
  • Track record of increasing responsibility.
  • At least first university degree or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English and at least one language from India are required.
  • Experience in grantmaking, lived experience, and knowledge of the regional context are strongly preferred.

  • Managing Action with Purpose and Values: Ability to work with colleagues and get things done in accordance with core purpose and values.
  • Process Management and Results Orientation: Strong project management skills, deadline management, sense of responsibility and accountability, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, adjust and adapt along the way.
  • Interpersonal Savvy: Great at making and fostering relationships inside and outside the organization, keen intercultural appreciation, inclusive style, comfortable around senior leaders, can represent Co-Impact well.
  • Financial understanding: Basic familiarity with the core elements of an organization’s financial model, financial statements, strategic financial analysis/ projections, and budgeting.
  • Learning Orientation: Humble and intellectually curious; seek and work with evidence, demonstrated openness to new ideas and a diversity of perspectives; unafraid to admit and learn from failure.
  • Strong Moral Compass: Impeccable personal ethics and integrity, kind and caring.
  • Proficiency with core business tools: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Communications: Exceptional ability to write and communicate ideas concisely and with clarity. Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Global Flexibility: Given the global nature of organization working across time zones, a willingness to be flexible with working hours, work remotely and periodically undertake international travel.
  • Perspective: Sense of humor and ability not to take oneself too seriously.
