Job Description/Responsibilities
Under our urban work, we support organisations that work with urban deprived communities such as communities living in informal settlements and homeless persons. In addition to this we run city-level programmes in close collaboration with civil society organisations on the ground.
The programme manager would be responsible for partnership and grant management and will support partners in the implementation of the program to achieve the programme outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Grant management related responsibilities including visits, reviews, reporting, payments, program revisioning, layering, deepening, pilots or any other program related activities.
- Lead efforts in strengthening ground level operations, bringing ownership, improving systems and processes of partners, team building, making subjective changes to program design, stakeholder engagement and collaborations with other partners.
- Identifying unaddressed issues of the community or gaps in implementation and do the needful to address the same, which includes feedback to partner, layering and deepening efforts
- Hold calendarized monthly and quarterly reviews with partners (together or individually) to share and facilitate cross learning
- Update internal leadership on a quarterly basis - mainly on progress in the program, challenges and ground level changes
- Initiate need-based assessment, review financial documents, process disbursements and provide regular inputs to the capacity building team on needs of each partner
- Contribute to our focused initiatives in informal settlements with children, youth, and elderly persons, and work with all the MIS coordinators across partners
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Candidates who have a good understanding of urban issues and communities living in informal settlements and with experience in organizations that have worked on their issues are encouraged to apply.
- High level of self-motivation, initiative, and creativity
- Willingness to travel extensively for work
- Substantial knowledge of organisational and project management
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, and solve problems independently or collaboratively as needed
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in the sector
