Since its inception in 2000, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) India has worked with communities to build their resilience to the effects of natural hazards and climate change. AKAH promotes risk-informed planning, preparedness, safeguarding key infrastructure, ensuring access to basic services, and creating safe and climate-resilient habitats. With a focus on long-term development, AKAH aims to reduce vulnerability to climate change and disasters through community-led action combining participatory and data-driven approaches. AKAH India is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable people.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide overall project management by being responsible for the implementation, coordination, and documentation of the Urban risk resilience programme focusing on urban flooding, urban heat and other climate change issues.
• Lead the team of development professionals i.e., Programme coordinators / officers to ensure timely and quality programme deliverables.
• Responsible for design development, project coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the program.
• Regularly review and monitor the project and ensure that the teams follow the project guidelines.
• Maintain good relationship with relevant government authorities, Non-Government Organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor the project implementation process and prepare periodic progress reports as required.
• Ensure that project documents are complete, current, and maintained appropriately.
• Produce relevant presentations and documentation to key group and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal and external for procurement of services for implementation
• Development of new proposals for urban habitat risk resilience.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Postgraduate in Urban Planning/ Urban design/ Urban Policy.
• Knowledge of software's – MS office, Google earth pro, Adobe, GIS. Language skills – English, Hindi and Marathi is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in development sector is desirable.
