Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH) Society is a multistate not-for- profit NGO registered in 2010 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. FINISH Society is working to promote sustainable and inclusive access of water, sanitation and hygiene services to impact health and environment. We have a team of field level work force in all major locations in India such as of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Punjab and Bihar. We work in collaboration with various Corporate/CSR partners, local government agencies, banks, other NGO partners, etc. So far, we have constructed more than 10 lakhs safe sanitation facilities, changing and impacting lives of many rural and peri urban population in the country.
Job Description
FINISH Society is looking forward to recruiting a civil engineer candidate for the post who can take up the WASH and technical expert role for Child-friendly infrastructure development & WASH project. The incumbent is also expected to contribute to the procurement and Infrastructure & WASH related MIS functions of the organization. The position will report to the Project Manager, Head office and the donor team and will be based in its project office at Kapurthala, Punjab.
Visiting, meeting and maintaining good relations with all/allocated project schools, Anganwadi centres, students, school development management committees, teachers, gram panchayats, education departments, block level officials in Panchayat Raj and Rural development department, contractors and beneficiaries etc. and monitoring key indicators. Taking rate quotations for the procurement process. Preparing estimates and drawings (AutoCAD) for the civil works, taking approvals from the donor and ensuring quality work on the site. Recording MBs for each site and taking bills from the contractor for the same. Ensuring local contribution collected from the SDMCs, teachers or village Pannchayat and reimbursed to the contractor against the work being done on the site. Ensuring operation & maintenance (O&M) in the schools and Anganwadi Centres.Maintaining good relationship with labour working on site and beneficiaries. Manage and ensure waster, sanitation and health (WASH) or any other program offered by donor or society at any time. Managing supervisors for collecting all required documents and maintain sound relationships with the schools and govt. officials, mass awareness campaigns, IEC materials, rallies etc under WASH.Capacity building of students and teachers, SDMCs, Anganwadi workers or any other beneficiaries. Collecting and maintaining records of the required data under WASH.Conducting feedback sessions and engaging with school staff, students, SDMCs, village panchayat and government officials etc. Ensure MIS and reporting throughout the WASH project. Document, data analyses and prepare and submit monthly reports to Project Manager. Responsible for the plan and execution of the Child-friendly Infrastructure development & WASH project. Ensure appropriate documentation and quality is maintained in line with the guidelines provided by the donor and any other guidelines as may be applicable. Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of infrastructure and WASH activities, ensuring quality standards are met. Provide technical support to field staff, contractors and troubleshoot operational challenges. Ensure workplace hygiene and cleanliness. Travel, Participate in Activities in the field in a periodical and planned manners. Any other project related work, activity assigned by Project Manager or any other senior officials.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Applicant must have a Civil Engineer (Diploma)/ B.Tech (Civil) or any higher qualification from a qualified university. Minimum 3 years of proven experience in the designated field. Strong attention to details and accuracy. Flexibility and adaptability. Display a clear commitment to community works, carry interpersonal skills to communicate with the community, staff, students and govt. officials etc. Willingness to travel to the field extensively as required in the project. Have good knowledge of AutoCAD (2D, 3D), MS Office (especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint) and electronic communication.
