The Addictions and related-Research Group based at Sangath is focused on building evidence for affordable and effective interventions for a range of substance use disorders and related problems, to ultimately inform research, policy and practice to scale up evidence-based care through sustainable health and community systems.
Job Description
Saathi aims to coproduce a digital curriculum for peer support workers to support individuals with severe mental illness. The project will identify key competencies, skills and content for the program using primary data (expert consultations, surveys and FGDs) and secondary data (literature reviews). The blueprint will be converted into short videos and uploaded onto LMS for accessibility. This will be accomplished over two phases within 24 months. The long-term goal is to reduce coercion and involuntary treatment of individuals with serious mental health conditions and to scale up mental health programs by addressing the lack of a standardized peer support training module in India.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant qualitative and quantitative data.
- Design and implement data collection methods such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate methodologies and software.
- Write scripts and digitize mental health training content.
- Assist in the planning and execution of research interventions, and monitor and document the implementation process.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Post graduate degree in Psychology/Research/Public Health/psychiatric social work
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in conducting literature reviews, qualitative research, and systematic/scoping reviews.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Passionate about mental health.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in creative writing or script writing.
- Experience with psychological therapies and intervention protocols.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience using digital tools for intervention delivery and/or training.
- Proficiency in using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, or R.
- Proficiency in managing survey tools such as Redcap/Qualtrics.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
