About the Organization
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.
Job Description
- Assist with the development of research protocols, including working with the local research team to generate ideas and understand the feasibility and acceptability of different approaches.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of HMSC & ethics applications linked to the project.
- Finalize data collection tools and undertake both quantitative and qualitative data collection which includes:
- Developing data collection tools such as questionnaires and topic guides.
- Conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews.
- Moderation/facilitation of panel discussions and focus groups.
- Conduct both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Support the setup of each study and coordinate the recruitment of participants and the consenting processes.
- Contribute to the training of local researchers in data collection methods.
- Actively contribute to the training and capacity building activities
- Perform all procedures as detailed in the approved study protocol, review all protocol deviations/instances of non-compliance, and take appropriate corrective action.
- Assist in the preparation of project monitoring reports.
- Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through presentations, participation in workshops and conferences, and scientific papers as appropriate.
- Organize advocacy events to bring together policy makers, researchers, clinicians, and community members to review progress and next steps for the further development of oral health research.
- Ensure compliance with good practice in relation to the conduct of research, the ethics policy and other organization policies.
- Internal as well as External with other project partners
- Preparation of donor reports quarterly
- Travel as required.
- Other duties as assigned by line manager or as per the needs of the programme.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Master’s in dental surgery or Master’s in public health or any other related allied field.
Desirable:
- PhD in epidemiology, population health or any other related discipline
Experience:
Essential:
- 1-3 years of experience in independent quantitative data analysis
- 0-3 years’ experience of implementing community-based research projects
- Publishing manuscripts in high impact factor journals
- Proficiency in the use of quantitative software’s for data analysis
Desirable:
- Understanding of analyzing and managing qualitative data
- Ability to manage field-based teams
- Good networking abilities with varied stakeholders
