About the Organization

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed to be University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the implementation of assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis, interpret findings, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making while ensuring the accuracy and compliance of project reports.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions, and coordinate logistics for survey activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation of survey-related activities.
  • Assist the team in project execution and research activities to enhance project outcomes.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

Educational Qualification:

  • PhD in Population Studies / Demography with some publicafions on Ageing

                                         OR

  • M.Phil. in Population Studies / Demography with specialisation in Ageing Research with minimum of 2 years' experience and some publications on Ageing
  • Strong understanding of quantitative research methods and survey methodologies.
  • Experience in the field of social research and community-based research.
  • Experience in analyzing Census and large-scale demographic and health survey data such as LASI, NFHS.
  • Proficiency in the STATA, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Desirable:

  • Experience in handling statistical and demographic software packages.
  • Track record of working in the health/social sector.
  • Experience in field survey settings.

Salary

Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 85,000/- Per Month (Consolidated)
