Job Description
The Vice President – WSN Government Initiative will lead and drive strategic engagement with key government stakeholders to enable the expansion and long-term success of the Wadhwani Foundation’s initiatives across India. This leadership role demands a visionary professional with over two decades of experience in navigating government systems, building trusted partnerships, and enabling policy-level alignment for large-scale social impact programs.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about nation-building through entrepreneurship, skilling, and innovation, while bringing a proven track record of working effectively with central and state governments, ministries, and public sector institutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Spearhead high-impact government engagement strategies to scale the Wadhwani Foundation’s programs across regions and sectors.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, and relevant ministries.
- Drive collaborative efforts with public institutions, policy think tanks, and government departments for co-creation and joint implementation of Wadhwani initiatives.
- Represent the Foundation in key government forums and policy discussions, advocating for scalable models of innovation, skilling, and entrepreneurship.
- Identify strategic opportunities for partnerships, MoUs, and joint ventures with central and state government bodies.
- Provide thought leadership on public policy and sectoral trends relevant to the Foundation’s mission.
- Work closely with internal leadership, program teams, and field offices to align government engagement efforts with program goals.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Management, or related fields.
- Deep domain knowledge in sectors such as skill development, entrepreneurship, economic development, or innovation-led growth.
- Experience in working with foundations, multilaterals, or policy institutions is desirable.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A senior professional with 20+ years of experience in managing high-level government relations, public sector collaboration, or policy advocacy.
- Demonstrated success in scaling large programs or public-private partnerships within government ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of government functioning, policymaking processes, and institutional frameworks at both central and state levels.
- Prior experience working with or within government departments, ministries, or mission-driven organizations will be a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for social impact, nation-building, and mission-driven initiatives.
