About the Organization

The Centre for ADR has a vision to promote the use of ADR methods among the legal and non-legal professionals, students and general public at large. The Centre envisions a society which values harmony, peaceful co-existence and diversity. The skills involved in ADR methods are not only for amicably resolving the disputes and disagreements but these are life skills which are needed for all of us. The Centre strive to contribute to the vision and mission of the National Law University Delhi of developing human beings who are technically sound, socially relevant and emotionally strong by imbibing the skills of ADR methods like active listening, understanding other’s point of view, discussions, empathy, rational thinking and community interest. The Centre wishes to bring a positive change in the view of the society regarding disputes/disagreements not as something negative but as an opportunity.

About the Course

This course is designed for construction industry professionals, offering a comprehensive blend of legal, management, and practical skills to effectively manage contracts and disputes in both international and Indian contexts.

Course Outcomes:

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the key legal principles and frameworks relevant to construction contracts.
• Effectively apply knowledge of contract selection and drafting, in construction projects.
• Navigate the complexities of all types of construction agreements and resolve disputes using various Alternate Dispute Resolution Mechanisms.
• Identify and manage potential legal and contractual risks in construction project planning and execution.
• Be able to work in the field of construction contracts and disputes in international scenario.

Fee Structure and Discounts Fee:

Fee: Rs. 1,25,000/- (For corporate/government sponsors, a discount of 25% will be applied to the total fee for groups of 5 or more participants.

Duration: One Year (September 2025 to August 2026)

Structure of the Program:

• 2 Online classes will be conducted on Weekends-Saturdays 7 PM to 9 PM and Sundays 10 AM to 12 PM
• Self-assessment test will be taken after each module (MCQs)
• Mid Semester and End Semester Exams will be taken Online
• Participants will be given one research assignment in each semester

Certification: Certificate of Diploma will be issued by CADR, NLU Delhi to all Participants who: Have minimum 70% attendance Secure at least 50% marks in each exam and assignment.

Eligibility

• Graduation in any field (management, finance, engineering, legal, etc.) from any recognized national or foreign university.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Infrastructure/ Construction Industry in any capacity.

Ideal Participants:

This course is designed for engineers, QS, project managers, lawyers, architects, procurement officers, admin & finance personnel, or professionals from other disciplines with work experience in infrastructure sector . It provides advanced skills in drafting, managing construction contracts and claims, and resolving disputes, guided by insights from seasoned industry experts.

All participants are expected to have reasonable experience and exposure of working in infrastructure/ construction industry in any capacity (General/Financial/Commercial/Legal/ Project /Contract/SCM/Consultancy management).

Participants will be given preread material before commencement of the Program and each module and are expected to come prepared for the sessions. A large portion of the Program will be in the form of discussions on practical situations and case studies and participants are expected to have basic minimum level of knowledge and exposure of construction /infrastructure industry.
