Started in 2005, Chitrika’s Operation Web stands for what small artisan collectives can achieve ‘collectively’ while also enabling an equitable share across the value chain for both the craft community, its service providers as well as the consumer. More details on www.chitrika.org and www.alcindia.org

Project Overview

The Colors of Nature project aims to revolutionize India's textile industry by advancing circularity through the use of plant-based dyes. The initiative will empower civil society organizations (CSOs) to co-create and ensure due diligence in circular textile value chains. The action focuses on enhancing the capacities of CSOs, promoting environmentally sustainable practices, and addressing market failures to improve economic inclusion for marginalized communities. The project is supported by Welt Hungerhilfe (www.welthungerhilfe.org) and co-funded by the European Union (european-union.europa.eu/index_en). The primary objective is to establish a scalable production and marketing model for natural dyes, promoting ecological sustainability and economic empowerment. The project aims to reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry, support local economies, and enhance consumer awareness through education and advocacy.
