About the Organization

A UNESCO Chair is a team led by a higher education or research institution that partners with UNESCO on a project to advance knowledge and practice in an area of common priority. The partnership is formalized through an agreement between the Director-General of UNESCO and the head of the institution hosting the UNESCO Chair (Rector, President, Vice-Chancellor).

Established within a teaching or research unit/department/faculty of the higher education or research institution, the UNESCO Chair is led by an academic head referred to as the Chairholder. The Chairholder is supported by a team of faculty members, lecturers, researchers and students from the host institution(s) and personnel from other partner organizations (e.g. other institutions, NGOs, public private sector, authorities) in the host country and in other countries who are associated with the activities of the Chair.

About the Conference

The International Conference on “Clean and Safe Sports” seeks to promote global dialogue and interdisciplinary research on the ethical, legal, and institutional dimensions of integrity and safety in sports.

Organised under the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports at National Law University Delhi, the Conference aims to bring together scholars, policymakers, athletes, sports administrators, ethicists, and international agencies to deliberate on contemporary challenges like doping, neuro-enhancement, governance, athlete welfare, and ethical dilemmas in modern sports.

Selected peer-reviewed papers from the conference will be published in an ISBN-certified edited volume under the UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports, National Law University.

Objectives

• To promote interdisciplinary dialogue on legal, ethical, scientific, and institutional issues related to clean and safe sports.
• To explore emerging challenges such as neuro-doping, technological enhancement, and ethical dilemmas in sports governance.
• To analyse national and international frameworks governing anti-doping, athlete protection, and sports ethics.
• To generate academic and policy insights for developing sustainable mechanisms to ensure fairness, safety, and accountability in sports.
• To publish selected peer-reviewed papers in an ISBN-certified edited volume contributing to global scholarship on sports integrity.
