About the Organization

The Young Tinker Foundation builds “Skill Consciousness” and promotes “Problem-Solving through Hands-On STEM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among high school students. We focus on empowering students to ideate, prototype, and build solutions. Our transformative initiatives- Young TinkerSpace (YTS) and Tinker on Wheels(ToW) have impacted over 270,000 students across India.

The world needs problem solvers to address its most pressing challenges and create jobs. That’s why we focus on empowering high school students, particularly in rural areas, with the right skills and problem-solving mindset. Our goal is to nurture the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who will drive change and make a lasting impact in their society.

About the Fellowship

The Young Tinker Fellowship is a full-time, two-year immersive program offered by the Young Tinker Foundation. It is designed for passionate, purpose-driven individuals aged 21–32 who want to make a tangible impact in the field of hands-on education, innovation, and social change.

As a Young Tinker Fellow, you will:

• Work directly with underserved schools—particularly in rural and tribal India—through Tinkerspace on Wheels (TOW), our mobile makerspace initiative.
• Facilitate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning using cutting-edge tools like AI, IoT, 3D Printing, Robotics, and more.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to co-create learning experiences, develop vernacular curricula, and help scale our vision across India.

This is not just a teaching program—it’s a leadership journey.

What Fellows Do:

• Deliver practical, hands-on STEAM education to students
• Train teachers and local community leaders
• Design and implement innovative education models
• Participate in community immersion and social impact projects.
• Collect impact data and contribute to research and documentation

Who can Apply

Our fellows come from diverse backgrounds, including recent graduates, postgraduates, and professionals from various fields. We seek individuals who:

• Believe in the power of education to transform lives.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and a willingness to learn.
• Are committed to setting and achieving ambitious goals.
• Are problem solvers and effective collaborators.

Eligibility

• Youths aged 21–32
• Graduates or recent graduates (within 6 months of application)
• Individuals eligible to work in India (Indian citizens or holders of valid work visas)
• Passion for education, grassroots innovation, and rural development
• Backgrounds in science, engineering, design, education, arts or social work are a plus—but not mandatory
