EOI For Charitable Trust Run Hospitals of Ahmedabad

EOI For Charitable Trust Run Hospitals of Ahmedabad

Organization: BharatCares

Apply By: 21 Jul 2025

Introduction

Charitable trust-run hospitals play a vital role in ensuring equitable and affordable healthcare access across India and this is particularly true in cities like Ahmedabad, where a growing urban population and expanding low-income settlements increase the demand for quality yet affordable healthcare services.

Ahmedabad, with a population of over 8.4 million (as per Census 2011, projected for 2025), continues to face health disparities despite having a mix of public and private healthcare providers. According to the NITI Aayog’s Health Index (2021) and the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), Gujarat shows significant gaps in maternal and child health indicators, non-communicable disease screening, and access to consistent primary care—especially in urban poor and peri-urban areas.

In this context, charitable trust-run hospitals in Ahmedabad serve as a crucial bridge - offering subsidized or free care to thousands of patients who may otherwise fall through the cracks of mainstream healthcare systems. However, many such hospitals face systemic challenges in infrastructure, medical equipment, skilled workforce availability, and the adoption of digital health tools, which limits their potential to scale up or modernize services.

To support these institutions in strengthening their service delivery and creating measurable health impact, BharatCares invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Ahmedabad-based hospitals run by registered charitable trusts with a proven operational history of at least 5 years.

This initiative seeks to identify and collaborate with select hospitals that are committed to improving healthcare access, upgrading existing facilities, and expanding their reach in a measurable and sustainable manner.
