About the Organization

ASSOCHAM Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (AFCSR), established in 2013 as a Trust, is the social arm of ASSOCHAM. AFCSR focuses on designing and implementing scalable, impact-driven programmes across environment, sustainability, education, skilling, livelihoods, healthcare, and community development, in partnership with corporates, government bodies, and civil society organisations.

About the Proposal

Urban waterbodies play a critical role in ecological balance, groundwater recharge, biodiversity conservation, and community well-being. Following the successful completion of Phase I restoration activities at a historically significant urban waterbody supported through CSR funding, visible improvements have been observed in ecological health and public usability.

To ensure the sustainability of these gains, there is a need for structured post-restoration maintenance and management.
