About the Organization
SBI Foundation (SBIF) was incorporated to bring all the CSR activities of State Bank Group under one umbrella and contribute in the efforts made by the State Bank Group to support and uplift the underprivileged sections of society. The focus areas of SBIF are Livelihoods & Entrepreneurship, Education, Environment, Sports, Rural Development, Healthcare, Disability & Inclusion and Women Empowerment. So far, SBIF has impacted the lives of more than a 20 million beneficiaries through its various CSR initiatives and aims to continue improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the society, particularly of the less fortunate and under-privileged members and enable them to live up to the potential that they all possess. SBI Foundation’s work through its flagship program, SBIF CONSERW – ‘Conservation Through Sustainable Engagements, Restoration and Wildlife Protection’, is geared towards achieving the UN SDG 6 ‘’Clean Water and Sanitation”, SDG 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy”, SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, SDG 13 “Climate Action”, SDG 14 “Life Below Water” and SDG 15 “Life on Land”.
The SBIF CONSERW program works primarily in the following 4 themes:
- Sustainable Waste Management.
- Wildlife Protection
- Renewable Energy
- Restoration and Conservation of Ecosystems
About the Proposal
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to invite potential grantees with a proven track record to implement projects in the thematic area of Solid Waste Management for a period of 1 years starting from FY 2026-27.
SBI Foundation hereby invites proposals for funding under SBIF CONSERW: Waste No More. The budget for the proposal should be less than ₹2.00 crore for a support period of one year. Multiple submissions will be disqualified.
Location and Implementation Focus
State: Karnataka
City: Mysuru
Specific implementation areas: Central Business District (CBD) (Annexure VI)
Implementing Authority Area: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) jurisdiction
The NGO should have relevant experience or the ability to carry out cleanliness, sanitation, waste management, or behaviour change activities within Mysuru city.
Preference may be given to agencies that have worked in busy public areas such as markets, main roads, commercial areas, or tourist locations.
For project proposals above Rs. 1.00 Cr, the cumulative revenue of the organization for the last 3 financial years (2022-23, 2023-24,2024-25), should be a minimum of Rs. 5.00 Cr).
Scope of Work:
The proposed project under SBIF CONSERW – Waste No More shall fall under the thematic area of Sustainable Waste Management. The selected NGO/Agency shall support the Mysuru Heritage & CBD (Central Business District) Area Clean Mission and work in close coordination with Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). The scope of work shall include the following components:
- Procurement and Installation of Infrastructure
- Procurement of one truck-mounted road sweeping machine for use in the CBD area. (Details attached as Annexure VI)
- Installation of 100 commercial-grade smart dustbins at identified high-footfall public locations within the CBD, in coordination with MCC.
- Support to Cleanliness Infrastructure Operations
- Support effective utilization and on-ground coordination for the truck-mounted road sweeping machine deployed in the CBD.
- Support proper use and upkeep of smart dustbins, including identification and reporting of damage, misuse, or operational issues to MCC.
- Coordinate with MCC field staff to ensure cleanliness activities are carried out as per corridor-wise schedules.
- Information, Education & Communication, Behaviour Change & Community Engagement
- Implement behaviour change initiatives to promote responsible public behaviour in heritage and high-footfall areas
- Design and implement IEC campaigns promoting cleanliness, waste segregation, anti-littering, and anti-spitting behaviour.
- Use simple, locally appropriate communication tools, such as posters, banners, wall messages, street outreach, and public announcements.
- Conduct IEC activities targeting shop owners, vendors, tourists, commuters, and pedestrians within the CBD area
- Support MCC in fostering a sense of ownership, pride, and responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in Mysuru’s heritage core.
- Monitoring, Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain records of IEC and behaviour change activities conducted, including location, date, and type of activity.
- Submit periodic progress reports in the prescribed format.
- Participate in review meetings and coordinate regularly with MCC officials
- Sustainability & Handover
- Ensure smooth and effective handover of the truck-mounted road sweeping machine and related documentation to Mysuru City Corporation at the end of the project period.
Eligibility
Project Proposal:
- Alignment with SBI Foundation's ‘scope of work’ mentioned in page nos. 11-12.
- Clear and concise detailing of the proposed solution, implementation plan and outcomes.
- Innovation in the project.
- Risk-mitigation measures.
- Comprehensiveness of the Log frame & Project timelines.
- Project Monitoring & Evaluation Process.
- Proportion of admin and overheads costs, in comparison to the total project budget.
- Project exit strategy & sustainability of the solution.
Experience:
- The NGO should have a minimum 3 years of existence on the date of publication of this RFP.
- The NGO should have presence in the proposed state.
- The NGOs having demonstrated capability to improve measurable outcomes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the intervention will be preferred.
- The NGO must have completed at least 3 assignments/projects of a similar nature.
