Position: Associate – Monitoring and Reporting Location: Majuli, Assam Joining: Immediate, latest by mid February, 2026 CTC: Up to 5.40 LPA, commensurate with skills and experience. Type: Full-time, On-site About us: Ayang Trust is a social purpose organization working towards building the ecosystem for sustainable self empowered communities in Northeast India through interventions in quality education and livelihoods. At the heart of the organization is The Hummingbird School started in January 2017 to provide a contextual and holistic education to the children of Majuli, set up completely in partnership with the local community. Ayang grew out of the various and urgent needs of the people of Majuli and was registered in November 2017 and has since expanded its work into a diverse range of development programs. The Opportunity: Ayang Trust is looking for an Associate – Monitoring and Reporting to strengthen its education program. The Associate will ensure data quality, tracking, and meaningful learning integration. This role is key to turning evidence into insights that help us improve our programs and deepen our impact on the communities we serve. Key Expectations: Systems & Strategy Design and implement program-level monitoring plans, frameworks, and data collection systems. Collaborate closely with program teams on indicator setting, target tracking, and adaptive planning. Uphold ethical standards and safeguarding principles in all Monitoring and Reporting processes. Data Management & Analysis Oversee regular data collection, analysis, and the maintenance of live dashboards. Develop analytical reports, insights, and briefs for internal review and donor reporting. Anchor outcome and impact assessments, including periodic evaluations. Field Engagement & Learning Conduct frequent field visits to track progress, verify data, and provide on-ground support to field teams. The means of transport could include bikes, boats, tractors and sometimes even a trek through the hills. Build the capacity of program staff on tools, data interpretation, and participatory monitoring practices. Facilitate learning spaces to document insights and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. Desired qualification and competencies: At least 1 year of prior experience in designing and implementing M&E systems. Minimum 1 year of professional experience is mandatory, this role is not suited for entry level applicants. Fundamental understanding of research methods and the ability to conduct surveys and evaluations.. Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and reporting, with the ability to translate findings into actionable insights. Hands-on experience with tools such as KoboToolbox, Power BI, Excel, and Google Data Studio. Excellent communication, problem solving, and team coordination skills. A degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field with strong mathematical aptitude.. Self motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a remote, rural river island setting with a learning oriented mindset. Having a valid drivers license (atleast 2 Wheeler) or willingness to get one within 6 months of joining.
