Avanti Fellows is a 14 year-old not-for-profit organization founded by IIT Bombay Alum, Akshay Saxena. Avanti’s mission is to help students lift themselves & their families out of poverty in a single generation through access to quality careers in STEM. Avanti works with large government school systems (Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti) to create system-wide test-preparation programs for national entrance exams for engineering, medical and other technical education in STEM.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and committed Biology Teacher to teach classes XI and XII. The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual knowledge of NEET and CET-level biology, be fluent in both English and Hindi, and be dedicated to mentoring students towards their academic and career goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach Biology for Grades 11 and 12 aligned with NEET and CET curriculum (offline)
• Deliver engaging, concept-based sessions in both English and Hindi.
• Conduct regular mentoring sessions and provide career guidance to students.
• Understand student orientation, learning gaps, and design strategies for improvement.
• Maintain class discipline and ensure strong academic outcomes.
• Be open to travel or relocation if required.
• Work closely with the academic team to achieve centre goals.

Preferred:

• Prior experience with product or content design in academics.
• Exposure to competitive exam preparation environments (NEET/CET).

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biology or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching or similar academic roles.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong conceptual and subject depth in NEET/CET Biology.
• Excellent command over English and Hindi (spoken & written).
• High sense of ownership and self-motivation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in academic work.
• Adaptability and willingness to work in a dynamic environment.
• Team player with a student-first approach.
• Understanding of science pedagogy and ability to deliver quality sessions under tight timelines.
