The Project Manager – Logistics Academy serves as both the academic and operational head of the Logistics Academy, overseeing the design, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of logistics training programs aligned with industry standards. This position is accountable for ensuring the effective delivery of skill development, achieving positive learner outcomes, meeting employer expectations, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing data and documentation, engaging stakeholders, and supporting the financial sustainability of the academy. The Project Manager – Logistics Academy functions as a strategic liaison between industry needs, academic rigor, and operational implementation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Administrative Head of the Hyderabad Logistics Academy, ensuring efficient operations aligned with the objectives and guidelines of Tech Mahindra Foundation.
- Lead critical functional areas including student mobilization, internships, apprenticeships, and placement operations to ensure strong learner outcomes. ∙ Oversee accreditation, affiliation, and membership with relevant national and industry bodies, including timely renewals in line with courses offered.
- Ensure training quality and continuous improvement to benchmark programs against national and international standards.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with NGOs, affiliating bodies, educational institutions, government departments, and relevant industry organizations. ∙ Establish strong partnerships with logistics companies, warehousing firms, e- commerce players, and industry bodies to strengthen industry integration.
- Develop placement pipelines, on-the-job training tie-ups, and employer engagement mechanisms.
- Gather employer feedback to enhance curriculum relevance and learner employability.
- Identify opportunities for new courses, certifications, and industry-driven programs aligned with market demand.
- Ensure thorough understanding and oversight of institutional processes including HR, administration, student registration, training delivery, assessment, certification, alumni engagement, and learner handholding systems.
- Manage academy budgets, fund utilization, and reporting while driving cost efficiency without compromising training quality.
- Annual Budget Preparation, Batch Planning, financial planning, management, and cost control for the academy.
- Track and report key performance indicators including enrollment, completion, certification, placement, retention and Documentation ∙ Ensure full compliance with regulatory, funding, and organizational requirements. ∙ Provide effective people leadership, team coordination, and performance management.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Desired Skill Sets:
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Demonstrates high standards of integrity, trust, and professional ethics.
- Possesses sound understanding of commercial and financial functions including budgeting, procurement, and basic financial management.
- Good geographical awareness of Hyderabad and understanding of regional skill development ecosystem will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in managing vocational training or skill development projects, preferably in logistics or related sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with effective coordination skills.
- Excellent communication, reasoning, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficient in report writing, documentation, and presentations, with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel as required for operational and stakeholder engagements.
- Demonstrates learning agility, flexibility, and openness to adopting new approaches and systems.
Experience: 8-10 years of total experience with 3-4 years in Skill Development (Handling admission, Placements, and overall operation of a Skill Development Institute). Candidates having experience in logistics institute / academy will be preferred.
Qualification: Postgraduate with exposure to skill training in logistics sector
