Advertisement for THREE Research Assistant (RA) positions in the University of Cambridge–British Council–Jawaharlal Nehru University Project
Applications are invited for THREE positions of Research Assistant (@42000/- p.m. in the University of Cambridge–University of Frankfurt–Jawaharlal Nehru University Project “Multilingual Dynamic Assessment for Language and Content learning: Addressing Sociolinguistic Diversity in India’s Primary Schools”, funded by the AHC-DFG. on a a purely temporary basis initially for a period of SIX (6) months in 2025-2026.
Job description: The project investigates multilingual practices in Delhi school and intends to document and to make recommendations for multilingual education. RAs will be expected to undertake school visits, assemble and analyse the corpus and assist in the development of multilingual educational material.
TWO of the three RA positions (RA-I and RA-II) are renewable at 6 monthly intervals for a total of 18 months, whereas ONE (RA-II) is renewable for a total of 12 months. The duties of the RAs are as follows:
RA-I: Audio-recording and administering test batteries in five schools
RA-II For audio-recording and administering test batteries in five schools,
RA-III: For administering test batteries in five schools and Hindi - English corpus transcription X 18 months.
Eligible candidates as per the conditions outlined below may appear in the interview with all relevant original certificates/documents, a set of which is to be submitted (self-attested) on the date of the interview.
Essential qualification for R.A: M.A. in Linguistics with minimum 55% marks, or in a field related to school education. Experience in conducting the following standardised tests: Test for Reception of Grammar (TROG), Annual Status in Education Report (ASER) Language Reading Test, British Picture Vocabulary Scale (BPVS), Polysemy Receptive Vocabulary Test, Raven’s Coloured Progressive Matrices (Raven’s CPM), as well as other tests developed in the project. Experience in corpus linguistics is a desirable requirement
