Job Description

Through its specialized research centres, including the Centre for Criminology and Victimology (CCV), the University seeks to advance high-quality interdisciplinary research that contributes to informed public discourse and evidence-based policy. CCV is undertaking a comparative study on systematic examination of the legal, functional, and institutional architecture of policing in India vis-à-vis the policing systems in other developed jurisdictions. The project aims to produce rigorous, evidence-based, and practically workable recommendations geared towards strengthening institutional performance. In this context, CCV is seeking two Research Associates with strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Job Responsibilities

The Research Associate will be expected to:

• Assist in research, review, and analysis of institutional architecture of policing and governance frameworks across jurisdictions.
• Conduct doctrinal, empirical, and comparative research (including literature review, case/document analysis, and data-driven inquiries).
• Support the drafting of research outputs, including reports, briefs, and internal working papers.
• Coordinate with project investigators and external consultants where required.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• LL.M. with specialization in Criminal Law OR M.A./ M.Sc. in Criminology OR M.A./M.Sc. in Police Studies/Administration OR any allied subjects from a recognized Indian or foreign university with minimum 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), and a good academic record.
• Demonstrable research track record in Criminal law/Criminology/Police Studies and allied subjects.
• Prior research experience including field work and data collection is highly desirable.

Salary

Remuneration will be Rs. 50,000/- per month on a consolidated basis.
