Job Description

The Senior Associate – Ecosystem Partnerships & Advocacy for Civic Learning will play a critical role in advancing Janaagraha’s mission to integrate Civic Learning into India’s education system. The role involves cultivating partnerships across government, civil society, and academic ecosystems, driving advocacy communication, and translating field insights into compelling narratives and evidence. Working closely with the Manager-Civic Learning and cross-functional teams, the Senior Associate will wear multiple hats ecosystem engagement, advocacy support, documentation, and evidence building to position Civic Learning as indispensable to India’s educational landscape.

Job Responsibilities

Ecosystem Engagement & Stakeholder Management

• Map, prioritize, and manage relationships with stakeholders across district, state, and union levels including government, CSOs, donors, academia, and civic ecosystem partners using structured systems such as stakeholder databases, engagement trackers, contact sheets, and follow-up protocols.
• Plan and coordinate stakeholder interactions by organizing outreach, scheduling engagements, maintaining meeting records, and ensuring timely follow-up actions and sharing of relevant program updates with partners.

Advocacy & Strategic Communication

• Design and develop advocacy materials including policy briefs, concept notes, two-pagers, decks, talking points, official correspondence, and meeting packs grounded in evidence and field realities, to support engagement with district, state, and national decision-makers.
• Work closely with Communications and Strategy teams to shape advocacy narratives and external-facing content that position Civic Learning as a core priority within India’s education ecosystem and strengthen policy influence and dissemination efforts.

Field Insights, Knowledge Integration & Evidence Building

• Translate field-level learnings into structured knowledge products by synthesizing program data, implementation insights, case stories, and stakeholder feedback into reports, dashboards, presentations, case studies, and qualitative evidence for internal learning and advocacy use.
• Facilitate systematic knowledge flow between field teams and advocacy leadership by aligning information needs, consolidating real-time insights, and ensuring field evidence consistently informs strategic messaging, ecosystem engagement, and decision-making.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Public Administration, Development Studies, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in ecosystem engagement, government liaison, advocacy support, communication, or program coordination in the development or education sector.
• Demonstrated experience working with government systems, education departments, CSOs, academic institutions, or large-scale development initiatives.
• Proven ability to develop high-quality communication and advocacy materials—policy briefs, decks, reports, and stakeholder-facing narratives.
• Experience in stakeholder mapping, engagement tracking, and maintaining structured follow-up systems.
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and collaboration skills, especially with educators, government officials, and ecosystem partners.
• Strong understanding of India’s education ecosystem, governance processes, and policy landscape related to school education and civic learning.
