Job Description
WJCF is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial professional with strong credentials and exceptional stakeholder-management skills for the role of State Engagement Lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Program in Chhattisgarh.
The State Engagement Lead will drive on-ground program implementation to strengthen the delivery of Type 1 Diabetes services across public health facilities. The role requires developing a comprehensive understanding of the state’s public health system, governance structures, policy landscape, and barriers to care. They will play a key role in designing and operationalizing program interventions, shaping the implementation model, supporting day-to-day program operations, and facilitating effective stakeholder engagement to ensure high-quality and sustainable care delivery. The ideal candidate should have exceptional interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, be flexible, be comfortable working and supporting operations across cross-functional teams and have a strong commitment to excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- In collaboration with Manager (Non-communicable Diseases), support development of the program strategy and implementation plan for the state.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with relevant government stakeholders, development partners, and other stakeholders. Ensure regular engagement with key stakeholders at the state level to ensure optimal communication on program roll-out and progress, seek required buy-in and approvals to ensure continuity, and identify and communicate to mitigate key risks.
- Support implementation of programmatic activities at the state level, including but not limited to, supporting the program team in planning activities and monitoring implementation.
- Support the state program team and the field staff in engagement with local / district level stakeholders to support roll-out and monitoring of key programmatic interventions.
- Identify potential risks and challenges to the implementation and roll-out of activities and plan for/ implement suitable mitigation mechanisms to address identified risks.
- Support the design and implementation of processes and systems for collection, management and review of programmatic data and results to monitor progress and inform strategy.
- Support development of compelling presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, such as progress narratives, update notes, etc.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any domain with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a demanding, results-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, project design, and team management.
- Experience of working with government stakeholders and familiarity with the Indian public health system will be a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including technical information.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Hindi.
- Willingness to travel extensively within and outside the program states and districts.
