SIIC, IIT Kanpur, is one of India's oldest technology business incubators, established in 2000 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Initially launched in collaboration with SIDBI, the center has supported over 200 startups across various sectors and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a robust startup ecosystem. In 2018, its operations were streamlined under the Foundation for Research & Innovation in Science & Technology (FIRST), a Section 8 company established by IIT Kanpur.

The center connects startups with academics, mentors, investors, and industry experts, offering comprehensive support from ideation to commercialization. SIIC focuses on developing science- and engineering-based solutions to address critical societal challenges, particularly those affecting underprivileged communities.

Job Description

The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), Kanpur invites applications for filling up of Young Professional Program Fellow post.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage biotech/medTech startup portfolios
• Extensive coordination with incubated startups and their stakeholders
• Lead meeting planning, facilitation, presentation, minutes, and follow-up
• Outreach activities
• Conduct Workshops, hands-on training, and seminars
• Assisting in planning the call for applications for startup grants.
• Conduct financial due diligence of documents for the release of the grant.
• Maintain databases of activities, startups, and beneficiaries.
• Support project execution with administrative and data management tasks.
• Lead and support other activities as assigned from time to time.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• B.Tech. / M.Tech / M.Sc. in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering or Allied Areas in Life Sciences Desirable
• Prior experience of 0-2 years at an incubator/startups ecosystem or academic / research institution is preferred.
• Ability to independently execute projects
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
