About the Organization

SIIC, IIT Kanpur, is one of India's oldest technology business incubators, established in 2000 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Initially launched in collaboration with SIDBI, the center has supported over 200 startups across various sectors and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a robust startup ecosystem. In 2018, its operations were streamlined under the Foundation for Research & Innovation in Science & Technology (FIRST), a Section 8 company established by IIT Kanpur.

The center connects startups with academics, mentors, investors, and industry experts, offering comprehensive support from ideation to commercialization. SIIC focuses on developing science- and engineering-based solutions to address critical societal challenges, particularly those affecting underprivileged communities.

By providing state-of-the-art facilities, mentorship, and funding opportunities, SIIC helps entrepreneurs transform their ideas into impactful products and sustainable businesses, driving innovation and growth.

Job Description

The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), Kanpur invites applications for filling up of Young Professional Program Fellow post.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead/ Support project execution, related technological challenges, operations, performance, economic, and market trends.
• Research and Analyze emerging technology and innovations in different streams of Science and Technology and their industrial applications.
• Lead meeting planning, facilitation, presentation, minutes, and follow-up.
• Regularly interact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the performance of startups and look for newer avenues of partnerships.
• Ensure preparation of necessary portfolio reports for both internal and external purposes.
• Understand the target markets, including industry, company project, and company contacts, and which market strategies can be used to attract Investors.
• Promote startups and services to prospective clients.
• Interact and maintain relationships with portfolio companies, mentors, and partners.
• Developing and nurturing relationships with various key strategic individuals like local leaders, key industry players, and strategic suppliers and financing organizations.
• Lead and support other activities as assigned

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s of Technology (Mechanical Engg. / Electrical Engg. /Aerospace Engg. Electronics & Communications Engg. or related fields)
• Master’s degree or higher qualification in Technology, Management, Finance, or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making and market research.
• Prior experience in startup ecosystem engagement, incubation, or acceleration programs.
• Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in sectors like IoT, Robotics, AI, etc.
