About the Organization

SIIC, IIT Kanpur, is one of India's oldest technology business incubators, established in 2000 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Initially launched in collaboration with SIDBI, the center has supported over 200 startups across various sectors and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a robust startup ecosystem. In 2018, its operations were streamlined under the Foundation for Research & Innovation in Science & Technology (FIRST), a Section 8 company established by IIT Kanpur.

The center connects startups with academics, mentors, investors, and industry experts, offering comprehensive support from ideation to commercialization. SIIC focuses on developing science- and engineering-based solutions to address critical societal challenges, particularly those affecting underprivileged communities.

By providing state-of-the-art facilities, mentorship, and funding opportunities, SIIC helps entrepreneurs transform their ideas into impactful products and sustainable businesses, driving innovation and growth.

Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the Electrical & Electronics programs and ensuring seamless execution across all verticals. The focus is on wireless communication. The role includes stakeholder coordination, and end-to-end management of incubation, outreach, and innovation delivery activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Support product development related technological challenges, operations, performance, economic and market trends in the startup ecosystem.
• Reach out to mentors/advisors, share proposals, and manage the necessary documentation and invitations.
• Research and analyze emerging technology and innovations in different streams of Science and Technology, and their industrial applications
• Support in meeting planning, facilitation, presentation, minutes, and followup
• Research relevant companies, arrange meetings, sign MoUs, and handle legal coordination and follow-ups.
• Create outreach plans, organize both online and in-person events, and build connections with academic and industry contributors.
• Plan and run hackathons, workshops, and internship programs, taking care of logistics and speaker coordination.
• Help set up the lab by sourcing and installing 5G and 6G equipment needed by startups and industry partners.
• Monitor and manage performance versus benchmarks and develop insights regarding critical success factors and detractors
• Monitor resource allocation on a quarterly basis relative to policy and goals; evaluation and escalation needs to recalibrate
• Review and monitor sectorial portfolio issues periodically
• Seek to establish strong trust and confidence with the different teams to execute effectively
• Support in responding to RFPs, Fund Raising, and Project Execution
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, track budgets, and manage compliance and documentation.
• Other assignments as required by the domain.

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience

• B. Tech in Electronics, Communications, or Electrical Engineering from a reputed institution
• 1 year of experience in a relevant field
