Our work involves working on some of the most pressing challenges in Public Health such as Immunization, Quality of care, Maternal & Child health. Vihara works along the complete cycle of innovation - from using ethnographic research to gather behavioral insights, designing innovative solutions to address complex systemic challenges, to working with relevant partners to create implementation pathways for ideas to become real and aid uptake of innovations.

Vihara’s has a strong theory of impact oriented towards improving quality of care in public health, especially in the fields of Maternal health, Child health & Immunization. About the Role

The Strategic Partnership Manager is an analytical and creative thinker, who can identify, study, and vet inquiries to model new alignments for business opportunities, and form strategic partnerships with key external parties. The candidate will also be responsible for collaborating with many internal cross-functional teams to explore and drive innovation and impact implementation.

The candidate should have excellent verbal and written articulation skills and the ability to pursue and follow up on leads by generating necessary content pitches, and concept notes. The role also encompasses the responsibility to sustain and nurture partnerships through creative constant engagements in the form of outreach and updates, organizing convenings and workshops.

An understanding of the public health system in India is essential to perform this role in the given context.

About the Project

Vihara is commencing a year long human centered innovation implementation program called ‘Make home a safe space’, funded by a well known international donor, to prototype, trial and propose a practical model of intervention to enable healthy behaviors around home based child-care, in particular around safety and hygiene of food and water consumed by children. For this program, we aim to specifically prevent behaviors around the consumption of contaminated food and fecal or chemically contaminated water that are the prime perpetrators of repeated cycles of diarrhea and other waterborne diseases, impairing absorption of nutrients and exacerbating malnutrition and hidden hunger. The project will use and participatory approach to field prototyping by convening a group of experts and partners in the space of nutrition, water and sanitation, on ground implementer, and beneficiary families. This program aims to reduce malnutrition, stunting, repeated re-infection and hidden hunger.

Experience: 4-6 years

Educational Qualifications:

Masters in Public Health, Master of Business Administration (Health)

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years professional experience, 1-2 years in the partnerships/marketing industry a plus
  • Experience in building and managing successful partnerships with demonstrated ability to initiate and grow strategic relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create and formulate a partnership vision, strategy, and execution plan.
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to develop business proposals, concept notes and content pitches.
  • Demonstrable analytical and written communication skills
  • Strong evidence of strategic thinking and ability to identify opportunity areas
  •  Analytical and influential with experience of presenting and negotiating effectively while building strong partnerships
  • Experience of working in a specialised services environment
  • Ability to network with senior key stakeholders
  • Innovation and solution focused
  • Strong understanding of the online and offline media landscape for networking and outreach purposes.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • To understand the subject matter of the project thoroughly and find strategic alignments with partners
  • Quickly learn of new emerging content with regards to the project and analyze it to develop early strategies or ideas around it.
  • Identify areas for strategic growth and partnerships across the health sector and develop strategies for these opportunities based on evaluating Vihara’s quantitative and qualitative research work and health sector current focus and mandates.
  • Research, Outreach & Co-ordinate with teams, develop pitches and concept notes and follow up to close new partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with leaders across the organization as well as with industry and professional networks to facilitate business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the program teams to develop new and innovation solution plans that support relevant partner networks.
  • Planning, coordinating and organizing partner convenings and developing collaterals for them.
